In Maker Makey: Piano, your students will make a piano out of other materials such as fruit, play dough and other materials.Sstudents can then collaborate to make a floor piano.

Maker Makey: Piano supports lessons and learning through the students learning, or consolidating, a range of skills, including but not limited to:

• Producing models using materials, tools and equipment to show how to control movement and sound.
• Demonstrating that an on/off state in a circuit can represent the digits one and zero.
• Identifying necessary components for an electric circuit such as a source of electrical energy and conducting material such as metal wires.
• Constructing a real or virtual circuit to examine requirements to allow the flow of electricity, including exploring the construction and role of switches.
• Investigating different electrical conductors and insulators and examining why they may be used.

Important Information & Requirements

• The incursion runs for 90-120 minutes or half a day.
• Group sizes are limited to a maximum of 50 students.
• We can run a maximum of three sessions a day.
• The ideal location for this incursion is a large indoor area.
• We require access to the incursion location 30-60 minutes before the start time to begin setting up.
• Teachers are responsible for supervision of students at all times.
